Zamorano authorities and diplomatic representatives from Taiwan have signed agreements with Zamorano in the past that benefit young Honduran students from low income circumstances.
Mr. Diego Wen, newly appointed Ambassador from Taiwan to Honduras, visited Zamorano recently. During his meeting with Zamorano´s President, Dr. Jeffrey Lansdale, topics of mutual interest were discussed to strengthen the already friendly relations and cooperation between the Embassy and Zamorano.
The government of Taiwan and Zamorano have been working together in order to help low income youth from the Honduran Dry Corridor and vulnerable municipalities. Zamorano offers resources for their academic studies through the “Scholarship Program for Youths from Vulnerable Municipalities of Honduras”, creating a positive impact on their communities as well as nationwide.
Ambassador Wen and other members of the Embassy greeted and heard the testimonies of the scholarship recipients who thanked them for the opportunity of studying at Zamorano. In addition to the Zamorano students, also present were Mr. Luis Yang, Counsellor, Augusto Chan, First Secretary, Javier Liang, First Secretary, Tony Hou, Second Secretary, and Bambu Lin, Mission Head. Also in attendance from Zamorano was Ing. Isaac Ferrera, Institutional Development Head.
Zamorano is thankful for such a distinguished visit which strengthens the bonds and cooperation between our institution and the Republic of Taiwan.
