With their slogan «Biofortification of crops and climate adaptation for Food and Nutritional Security», PCCMCA 2019 will be the most important agricultural scientific congress in Central America.

Zamorano professors, Eng. Rogelio Trabanino and Dr. Juan Carlos Rosas, of the Department of Agricultural Science and Production, were sworn in by Guillermo Cerritos, executive director of the Directorate of Science and Technology (Dicta) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (SAG) as members of the National Technical Advisory Committee of the 64th Annual Meeting of the Central American Cooperative Program for the Improvement of Crops and Animals (PCCMCA). Objectives include; present results and advances in research, innovation and successful experiences in the diffusion of technologies for the improvement of the agricultural sector; analyze and discuss current issues, perspectives and future scenarios of agriculture and livestock; and establish links for strategic alliances of technical scientific cooperation, which contributes to solving common problems among the participating countries.

PCCMCA is attended every year by scientists from academic, public, agricultural research and innovation non-governmental organizations for Central America with participation from researchers from various of the Americas.
