The agreement was signed by Dr. Jeffrey Lansdale and Mr. Mateo Yibrin Canahuati, Zamorano and FUNDARHSE Presidents, respectively.

Zamorano’s leadership and the Honduran Foundation of Corporate Social Responsibility (FUNDARHSE) signed an agreement of inter-institutional cooperation. The agreement provides for the sharing of experience and knowledge through discussions and conferences with the goal of contributing to economic and environmental sustainable development. It seeks to improve the quality of life for families affiliated with both institutions.

According to Dr. Raul Soto, Agribusiness Management Director at Zamorano, this agreement is the culmination of a process led by the Agribusiness Management Department. “The initiative has its origin in a certified course at Zamorano  on social responsibility developed several years ago. Since that time, I have seen great potential for collaboration between Zamorano and FUNDARHSE. Despite not yet being a FUNDARHSE member, Zamorano was already looking to launch an agreement. Zamorano looks forward to being a member of the RSE foundation”, he added.

Dr, Soto is confident the agreement will generate opportunities for collaboration between specialty areas at Zamorano and areas of corporate social responsibility at FUNDARHSE. “The idea is that the agreement will open the door so the four Zamorano departments will have a space in their specialty areas which will allow each to take advantage of the opportunities for collaboration since the foundation brings together more than a hundred of the largest Honduran companies in the country”, he noted.

As a result of the development of projects that emerge from the agreement, the university and the foundation have proposed contributing to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Objectives (ODS) of the United Nations Organization (ONU). Within the framework of knowledge sharing proposed in the document, FUNDARHSE sponsored a conference for Agribusiness Management students about challenges and opportunities of RSE in pandemic times.

FUNDARHSE’s Claudia Díaz, Institutional Development and Communications Director, and Elena Quiroz, Business Development Director, offered the lecture
